The  60 minute documentary film RIVER RUNNER is the first cinematic portrayal of the wonderful river Lee in Southern Ireland. In 1957 this prolific 90 kilometers of wild, meandering water was dammed for electricity. The flourishing wild Atlantic Salmon run came to a catastrophic, miscalculated stop. In the upper valley  where serene scenic lakes flow into the most haunting of ancient riverine forests, catastrophe struck as thousands of ancient trees were chopped down and a forest dwelling Celtic community of 39 families were forced out of their unique dwellings. This film pays tribute to their memories, sadness and loss. The film has inspired an ongoing political campaign to reverse the damage and give back free passage on the river Lee to the wild Atlantic salmon.
